Tips to help save money on your water bills.

    1st September 2022

We know how important it is to be able to save money on our bills, especially with all of the rising costs recently. We have put together a few simple tips that could help you save some pennies.

    Check for Water Leaks

Sometimes leaks can happen without you even knowing, so it’s always a good idea to regularly check pipes, drains, and radiators for any puddles. Not only does every drop add unwanted extra money to your bills, but it can cause extensive damage to your home.

    Regular Maintenance

Many people don’t realise that household appliances such as toilets and sinks can be using more water than they should be. An increase in your usual water bill could be due to leaking taps or loose pipes. Regularly checking your taps and toilets could prevent extra water usage.

    Water saving options

There are many water-saving options you could implement into your home. These could include opting for a water-efficient showerhead, leaky loo detection strips, cistern bags, tap aerators, and a water butt. All of these can help keep costs down and create less water usage for your home.

    Don’t waste water

It sounds like an obvious one we know, but there are simple ways to avoid using more water than necessary. By reducing your time in the shower or swapping for a quick shower rather than a bath. You could turn off the tap whilst brushing your teeth. Only boil the kettle with the water you need. Doing washing when the load is full rather than lots of half loads. These will help reduce your water usage and are easy to do.

    Replace your old appliances

Older appliances can waste a lot of water that isn’t necessary. Replacing your old appliances for newer ones can be a big investment but it could save you money and avoid issues in the long run. The best appliances to go for are ones that are economical and have better water efficiency.

These are just a few simple tips, along with regular servicing and maintenance, to help you become more water-efficient in your home, saving you money on your water bills. Luke and his colleague were efficient, friendly and very professional. They arrived on time, kept me well informed and were just brilliant all round. I'd previously used a well known, national company and the contrast was remarkable. The previous company provided me with very little information, they refused to guarantee their work because a manhole was covered with a slab and once the blockage was cleared they left. Cotswold Drainage guaranteed their work and cleared the underlying problem, rather than the symptom. An all round excellent company to deal with.

A great, straightforward service, thank you! Customer service is excellent - there was a problem with the date we originally booked, but it was quickly resolved by Richard, and he was very apologetic. The engineer who came out was Adrian. He was on time, called ahead of arrival as requested, and was very polite. Did a great job. Thanks guys!

I was impressed not only by the speed and professionalism of the work done to install a new septic tank, but by the considerate friendliness of those who carried it out and of those conducting correspondence about the job.
